Kristy Noll, one of the AMAZING secretaries at the EMS, has turned the office into Chiefs Kingdom!

Mrs Gaschen’s second grade class is working on direction writing. Students worked all week writing and rewriting directions on how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Today we tried them out. We may have had to rewrite our instructions one more time, but finally we got some yummy pbj’s! Most of us really enjoyed getting to eat them.

Our afternoon preschool had a “beary” good day today! We went on a bear hunt, made a bear snack, created our own bear cave, and found a bear friend during yoga time.

Having a fun Friday playing “A Games of Quotes” in middle school ELA!

The high school library has a lot going on this month. We started reading Solo by Kwame Alexander this week. New reading challenges are also available and we have new books! On Tuesday we are making goal/focus boards. This project is a creative way to think about what you want more of or what you want to accomplish during the new year.

Our morning Preschool is having a “beary” good Friday the 13th! We made a hibernating bear craft and then constructed a bear donut snack! 🐻

Clayton Blankers created this masterpiece using nothing but Sharpie pens. The detail is immaculate! Mrs. Pursel, our amazing art teacher, framed this work of art for Clayton to take home and keep forever! #JCNExcellence

Mrs. Moore’s kindergartners visited the library today. We read a book about snow and then colored some winter pictures and worked a puzzle.

The Varsity Scholars Bowl team placed 1st at the Pleasant Ridge meet. Awesome job everyone!

📢ATTENTION 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th grade parents: Our school will soon be administering the Kansas Communities That Care (KCTC) Student Survey*. This survey is taken by 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th grade students statewide. We believe this survey is a valuable tool to help us understand how students behave, think and feel about alcohol, marijuana and other drug use, bullying and school safety. All parents must sign and return this form to school by January 13, 2023. To learn more about which survey questions our school district will administer to students, please contact your school administrator; EMS-913-886-3870 or HS-913-774-8515. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Click here to complete the survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeS9tRL35x0KetWoIw8zIfrdmrnC2xY9Vnjx1AEj7x6ckFL8A/viewform?usp=pp_url
