The proposed bond will create a secure entrance at the high school and move ADA access to the front of the building. The entrance project will repair steps, create ramp access, and repair the deteriorating retaining wall at the front of the building.

Miss Schmelzle's 5th grade practiced teamwork, communication, and problem solving skills during morning meeting today.

Securing our buildings is essential for the safety of students and staff. Currently, visitors at EMS can enter the cafeteria before the office. This project relocates the cafeteria entrance behind a secure entry, requiring visitors to check-in.

Join us for information and facts about the November 5th bond referendum. Our constituents can attend scheduled meetings: Oct 8 at the high school and Oct 9th at the elementary/middle school. Both meetings start at 6:00pm.

The bond projects are needed around the district to improve safety and security, accessibility, classroom environments, and building efficiency. These 5.5 million dollar bond projects were identified as the most urgent.

Today, the high school cross country team competed at the McLouth Invitational, weathering the humidity and high temperatures. While the times may not have been impressive, the kids competed very well. We had two winners, with Lucas Meredith winning the boys varsity race, and JD Cutshall winning the boys JV race. Other medalists include Scotty Roloff (7th), Max Kane (9th), Lane Edmonds (10th), Tucker Edmonds (16th), Isaac Laird (19th), Ivy Fujibayashi (15th), Bailey Jenkins (17th), and Riley Burk (6th in JV). The boys placed 1st as a team, bringing home the plaque. Thank you to all who showed up to support our kids.

Families, Staff, Students and Community,
A KSNT article was brought to my attention this afternoon. This article incorrectly listed Jefferson County North as a district targeted by a school threat over the last few weeks. JCN was incorrectly listed as one of these schools. The editor of the article has corrected the error, and this note appears at the top of the article:
Editor’s note: We had incorrectly listed Jefferson County North as one of the districts with threats made against them. The correct district was Wamego Public Schools. The article has been updated to reflect the change. We apologize for the error.
We will always inform our school community of these issues. Thank you for being responsive to posts you see on social media, and always let us know if you have concerns. Student and staff safety is of the utmost importance to our district.
