The bond provides the opportunity to create a more secure environment by building additional classrooms to host all classes in one building. The front entry would be updated to include a secure entry point for all visitors.

5th hour HS Art students decided that they wanted their 1st quarter project to be a collaboration to make a mural on the classroom's cabinets. The cabinets were in desperate need for a facelift and they did a fabulous job making their ideas come to life!

A large portion of the bond goes toward building life and efficiency. 2.5 million would be dedicated to roof repairs/replacements and HVAC and lighting upgrades at the EMS and High School.

At the Nortonville Fall Fest today discussing all the great things the bond will bring to JCN. Come by a pick up flyers.

In September we celebrated Dot Day in the EMS library. Mrs. Courtney read The Dot by Peter Reynolds to K-6th graders. The Dot is about growth mindset and being creative. The older students illustrated their dot with something new they tried. The younger students decorated their dots with their favorite colors. Our library looks beautiful with all these dots.

Last week was National 4-H week. Some of our 4-H students exhibited some of their projects in the library. It is awesome to see student success outside of school.

🍁A beautiful Hunter's Moon was setting over our JCN Charger🍁Another beautiful fall morning at JCN🍁

The BOE determined that 5.5 million of bond projects would meet the district's highest needs and allow future capital outlay projects to maintain facilities. Watch this video for cost breakdown: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uAZGFwFlNV3i7pgUGndYRm-s0tWJ8suy/view?usp=sharing

The project would replace obsolete fire alarm systems at the EMS and high schools. The new system would allow for all emergency communication, including fire, tornado, and crisis, through one system. Communication in emergencies is vital for increased safety and security.

Sophomores had the chance to visit Washburn Tech today to explore the programs available for their Junior and Senior years.

Parents of High School students, please be aware of a scam that is claiming to be ACT prep. Please be cautious. Remember that through JCN, the only ACT Prep class we have promoted is called the ACT Power Prep class. If you have questions, don't hesitate to call us.

We learned that the bond information mailer may have had a delivery problem, and we are looking into the issue. Please share the following link to an electronic version: https://drive.google.com/file/d/15fkHe2ENlT7pFHDAFmYHCvB79Ou3V7oa/view?usp=sharing

Proposed additions at the high school will allow all classes to be held inside the main building, improving the safety and security of students and staff. The updates will include a state-of-the-art Ag classroom. Currently, 70 of 117 students are involved in AG and FFA.
