The sheriff's department have notified us they have a perimeter set. They believe it is safe to proceed. We will be dismissing our remaining buses. High school students are being released and we have instructed them to go straight home and not venture south of Winchester. Thank you for your patience during this situation. We are releasing buses that go north from Nortonville this includes Dan's Bus #19, Teresa's Bus #17/25, Natalie Bus #22. They will pull out shortly. We are holding buses that go to Winchester. Parents may continue to pick up students.

At the Scholars bowl meet next Thursday at JCN, there will be NO spectators. Only teams and the workers will be allowed in. We are very sorry for this, but with current restrictions, we do not have the capacity in each room to accept more people. Thank you for understanding.

We have just received a call from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s department. They are currently searching for a suspect on foot at about 134th and Wellman. We are staying in lockdown until we get the “all clear” notice. We are also holding busses at the EMS. I will keep you advised.

The JCN Cross Country boys and girls will be traveling to Turner High School in Kansas City for their Regionals. They will be competing against Riverside, Valley Falls, Maranatha, McLouth, Maur Hill, ACCHS, Bishop Seabury, Horton, Kansas City Christian, and Olathe Heritage Christian. Centralia will be live-streaming their football game tomorrow, 10/2. They will be using the NFHS network which does charge a fee. Go to NFHS network.com, search Centralia High School Centralia Kansas. When you get there is should say Centralia vs JCN. You will have to subscribe. It is $ 10 or $11 a month or $60 a year.
