Photography students have been learning all about where photography and cameras began the past week. Each student successfully created their very own camera obscura (which translates to "dark room or box"), then we turned the whole classroom into a camera obscura! Fun fact: when light enters a camera it projects the light from outside into an inverted image inside as shown in the last image!

This week high school ceramics students learned about the earliest techniques of pottery and worked on making pinch pots of their own. Students came up with their own designs, added textures, and learned how to attach extra pieces. These are going to look so good when they are all glazed and fired!

Happy September, JCN EMS families!

Thank you to these KSHSAA officials for coming to our Gatorade scrimmage, and taking the time after to explain rules and regulations to our student athletes!

Updated JCNMS Volleyball Schedule 💚🏐 Good luck this season, Lady Chargers!

This week's highlight goes to our food service department. On Tuesday, our wonderful staff planned, cooked, and served food for our academic banquet. JCN appreciates their extra effort to make the banquet a special night for our parents and honored students. They served around 150 meals at the banquet. Thank you, Teresa, Joetta, Brian, and Dan, for showing your #JCNexcellence!

The JCNHS 2025 yearbooks, Record Year, are in! Former students and graduates can contact Mrs. Johnson to set up a pickup time.

HS Business, Sports & Entertainment Management Class with Ms. Adams' is starting a new project this year. The goal of this project is to create a consistent, engaging sports recap video that keeps students, staff, and the community updated and excited about Charger athletics while giving students experience in media production, interviewing, and storytelling.

JCN EMS Tardy Policy for Middle School Students.

The JCN EMS has added "Expectations" posters around the school. Dr. Meier and Mrs. Wisler went over all of the expectations with each of the grade levels on the first day of school. #JCNExcellence

Mrs. Deviney's 1st grade has been reading books by children's author, Leo Lionni. The class recently read his book, "Frederick". The story is about a mouse family as they prepare for the upcoming winter season. Frederick has a special gift he gives his family. The class enjoyed making mouse ears, like Frederick.

Did you know JCNHS has FIVE students in the Jefferson County Fire Department High School Program? It's true!
As these students learn the craft of emergency response and fighting fire, they are also learning the importance of respectable character and school. As a requirement of the department, these students are expected to behave and stay on top of their studies. #JCNexcellence

Today, JCNHS students who attended State Track at the conclusion of the 24-25 school year were celebrated throughout the halls of JCNEMS with Coach Wilson and Coach Leakey! #JCNexcellence
