This week’s highlight goes to our incredible Booster Club! Homecoming brings a full slate of events that take weeks of planning and preparation, and our parents, community, and Booster Club go above and beyond. Their dedication makes this week not only special for our students but also exciting and memorable for the entire community. Thank you for showing your #JCNexcellence!

Mrs. Berry’s class shows off their tie dyed t-shirts for Homecoming. Every year 3rd grade does this activity to wear to Homecoming and their field trip. We enjoy all the interesting designs.

Mrs. Mitchell's Creative Writing students are currently working on writing their own children's book with their groups. They have just started the writing process after brainstorming ideas, filling out plot diagrams, and creating rough drafts of what they want their characters to look like. The students are very excited to see their ideas come to life as they continue working on this project.

Ms. Adams’ Personal Finance students are diving into real-world money skills the past week by learning about taxes! They’re exploring W-2 forms, how to read them, and how to complete a 1040. Hands-on practice like this helps students prepare for life beyond the classroom.

Last Saturday, the Middle and High School Charger Cross Country teams competed at Wabaunsee. The athletes ran very well, with the boys high school team placing first overall. Middle school medal winners were Ella Seymour (1st), Sawyer Huff (8th), and Riley Ladesic (15th). Individual high school girl medal winners were Rowan Robey (15th) and Maddie Gerety (18th). Individual high school boy medal winners were Lucas Meredith (1st), Max Kane (4th), Judah Borg (8th), and Scotty Roloff (16th). The meet was on a tough course with very good competition. Thank you to all who made it out to watch our athletes compete. The high school competes this Saturday at the beautiful Rim Rock Farm owned by KU near Lawrence.
