For the third year in a row, the JCNMS girl’s basketball team won the regular season title along with the league tournament going undefeated and finishing the season 15-0.
Dominate is what this year’s team strived to accomplish every day in practice and games. The girls dominated in several areas including teamwork, scoring, defense, passing, and intensity. Twenty two girls played basketball this year and strived to perform their best. The team’s top goal was to win DVL. That goal was accomplished by beating Doniphan West in the championship game with a final score of 56-24. Members of this year’s championship team are Jacee Kramer, Jamie Navinskey, Kayla Jobbins, Heather Polson, Kylie Manville, Mallory Kramer, Bailee Deviney, Hannah Twenhafel, Sami Twenhafel, Laramie Leakey, Randi Noll, Amber McCown, Jacinta Priest, Briana Page, Lauryn Baker, and Riley Farrar. Congratulations on an outstanding season.
The B team finished the season with a 12-2 record. As we went through the season we became a stronger team with each practice and with each game. Each player developed their ball handling skills, scoring, rebounding, knowledge of offenses and defenses. The B team players were Bailee Deviney, Hannah Twenhafel, Sami Twenhafel, Laramie Leakey, Randi Noll, Jacinta Priest, Briana Page, Lauryn Baker, and Riley Farrar.
The C team finished the season with a 4-2 record as well as a couple of intra-squad scrimmages. Each player did a great job taking what they learned at practice and applying it in their games. The C team players were LeAnn Weishaar, Allison Rule, Caitie Barnhardt, Jessie Zacharias, and Riley Farrar.
