2010 Kindergarten Round-up held
The JCN Kindergarten Round-up was held on April 15 and 16 for children who would be attending kindergarten for the 2010-11 school year. The theme was “Hooked on Kindergarten”. As the children arrived, they smiled for a picture while sitting in a real-life fishing boat.
They were then taken to the kindergarten rooms for a morning of fun activities, which included songs, snacks, crafts and a bus ride around town. They also enjoyed fishing for their names and comparing the number of letters in each name.
Each child was assessed on kindergarten readiness skills as well as hearing, vision and speech. The teachers concluded the morning with a brief meeting with the parents. An overview of the morning was discussed as well as information regarding the upcoming school year.
