High School Art Happenings

Spring is a busy month in the art room. We were visited on February 12th by artist Stephanie Lanter. She is from Washburn University and is primarily a sculptor. She showed students how to create clay bobble head sculptures. Stephanie will return in March to work with students as they paint their projects.

Upcoming Dates:

Washburn Art Day- April 27th, at Washburn University. A group of advanced students will have the chance to enter art work to be judged along with other area students. Everyone will attend workshops to learn various techniques and bring home completed projects.

DVL Art Show- April 21st at Wathena. The public is invited to attend. The show will be during the regular school day.

Highland Community College High School Art Day- A group of students will attend workshops and enter work to be judged.

JCN Art Show –May11 at 6:00 p.m.- at JCN- this is in cooperation with the band concert and ice cream social. Patrons will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite artworks displayed by all art students.
