Cheerleaders Host First Pep Rally of the Year
Friday, September 3, was the date for 2010's first pep rally of the school year. Cheerleaders opened the pep rally with the Fight Song and a lively competition. Representatives from the fall sports had pedometers strapped to their foreheads, and the goal was to shake your head and get the highest score on the pedometer. After a first round, a winner was selected from each fall sport, and a showdown was held with the top head-bangers. Representing the football team, Spencer Wentz won by beating out Elizabeth Wolfe and Katie Noll.
The cross country seniors and volleyball seniors said a few words followed by Coach Mac for the football team, and the dance team performed to a Black-eyed Peas mix. Members of each class were recruited for a racing competition. Class sponsors held a plate of peanut butter, and students had to dip their noses in the peanut butter and pick up a cotton ball to race around a designated track. Under the excellent coaching ability of Mr. Brickell, the freshman class won the class contest.
For the finale, the cheerleaders and dancers combined to perform the Fight Song.
