Get Ready for Homecoming
Jefferson County North High School will be celebrating Homecoming during the week of September 13-17, 2010. The cheerleaders have assembled a fun-filled week starting with spirit days. Show your team spirit on Jersey Day Monday by wearing apparel from a favorite sporting team. Tuesday is Time Machine Day; dress in a particular era or from a well-known decade. The Battle of the Sexes will commence on Wednesday. We'll see how many boys wear camouflage and how many girls wear pink. Famous Couples will show up on Thursday, and Friday will be Extreme Green Day.
In addition to the spirit days, a Thursday evening pep rally will be held at the football stadium after the freshmen/sophomore football game. The game against Patton Junior High starts at 5 p.m.
After the students finish lunch, Friday afternoon will include a class decorating contest at the football field. At 2:25, students will begin lining up for a parade through the town of Winchester. The cheerleaders will lead the band with help from the Jefferson County North Middle School band. Following will be the four classes with their homemade banners separated by Homecoming candidate couples. When the parade reaches the stadium, a school-wide pep rally will be held and winners will be announced for the spirit day competitions.
The game on Friday night begins at 7 p.m. and the Chargers will take on the Maur Hill Mount Academy Ravens. The Homecoming dance will be held from 9:30-11:30 p.m. The theme is "When I'm with You." The price to attend the dance will be $4 per person or $6 per couple.
