High School Boys' Basketball Competed with the Best Teams

Coach Jim Brickell

The boy's varsity basketball team finished the 2007-08 basketball season with 11 wins and 10 losses. Highlights of the season were finishing 3rd at the McLouth tournament and winning at Horton (who qualified for state) in our best game of the season. Close losses to Pleasant Ridge (overtime), Troy (overtime), and KCC showed we could compete with the best teams in the area.

I want to express appreciation to my assistants Dave Schuler and Jason Noll, whose individual qualities helped lead to the success of the varsity, junior varsity, and freshmen teams. The JV team finished with a record of 10-7 finishing second at the ACCHS tournament and second at the Pleasant Ridge tournament. The freshmen finished with a 2 - 8 record, but showed great improvement from the start of the year to the end of the year.

I would also like to thank Ty and Jake Brickell (managers), Keith Ostrander (scouting), Raymond Riley (scorebook), Doug Mailen (filming), and all others who helped at various times throughout the season. We could not have done it without your help. A special thanks to Gigi Perry for organizing and preparing meals before the McLouth tournament. Speaking for the team, we would like to thank the cheerleaders, band, parents, booster club, and fans for all their support.

Finally, thanks to the members of the 2007 - 08 team and a special thanks to our three seniors(Chris Noll, Jared Brown and Luke Noll) whose leadership led us to a much better than anticipated season. It was a year to be proud of.

Individual honors for the year were:
Luke Noll - First team unanimous all league
McLouth All Tournament team
Riley Noll - McLouth All Tournament team
